Anglerfish are bony fishes that are usually found deep in the ocean.

Their body is very soft and jelly-like.

They are called anglerfish because they have a modifed spine in their first dorsal fin.  This spine has a fleshy growth at the end that can be wiggled so that it looks like food to other fish.  The Anglerfish uses this spine to lure and catch it's prey.
The jaguar is an endangered cat that is found in the Americas.  It is the largest cat in the Americas, reaching 140-220 pounds and up to 5 - 6 feet from their nose to the end of their tail.

Due to habitat loss the jaguar is rarely seen and is nearing extinction.

The Toucan is a bird found in South American rain forests.  It has a very large beak that is about 1/3 of it's total length.

Toucans reach around 20 inches in length.

The Tasmanian Devil is a mammal that lives only on Tasmania, an island south of Australia. 

They reach 13 - 18 pounds and 23 - 26 inches long.

Tasmanian Devils are marsupials just like Koalas and Kangaroos.

The rhinoceros is an endangered mammal that is found in Africa and Asia.  The African species have two horns, while the Asian species have one.

The white rhino is the second largest land mammal after the elephant.  It weighs between 750 to 8,000 pounds and reaches 4.5 to 6 feet tall.

Rhinos have been hunted heavily for their horns.  As a result they are dying out.  Their population is down to the tens of thousands.

Rhinos live around 35 years.
A liger is the offspring of a male lion and a female tiger.  It is larger than both the tiger and lion, weighing roughly twice as much as a tiger.

Ligers are thought to be sterile as most hybrids are.

When a male tiger breeds with a female lion it is called a tigon instead of a liger.

The flying squirrel is a mammal.  It is not able to really fly.  Instead it uses membranes between it's front and back legs to glide.

Flying squirrels can glide up to 150 feet, using it's tail to steer.

They live around 5 years in the wild and 13 years in captivity.

There are two types of flying squirrel: Southern flying squirrels and Northern flying squirrels.  The Northern flying squirrel is aournd 14 inches from head to tail.

The flying squirrel is an endangered species.

This shrimp grows to around 15cm.  It filters food out of the water using modified pincers.

This shrimp feeds on microorganisms in the water and can also feed off of plant and animal materials on the ground.
